Melanie Patrick – Clinic Director, Physiotherapist, MCSP, MSOM, AACP, OCPPP
Melanie graduated from Liverpool 1983. She worked as a lead NHS clinician in outpatients before establishing Woolton Physiotherapy in 1991. She has continued to expand her expertise gaining membership of The Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, Acupuncture Association (AACP),British Occupational Hygiene society and has a diploma in injection therapy. Melanie uses her specialist skills across a wide range of conditions and has a wide and varied client base. Melanie manages the Physiotherapy Services for local councils and corporate companies across Merseyside.
Her main concern is to maintain her 3 Physiotherapy sites as clinics of excellence where patients receive the highest possible standard of treatment with professionalism,2 care and respect.
Martin Schofield- Clinic Manager, Physiotherapist, MCSP, HPC
Martin is our Clinical Manager and has spent 7 years NHS before moving to work full time in Woolton Physio Clinic. Following graduation he has worked in varied clinical and management roles and actively seeks to improve his clinical skills attending various post grad courses relating to soft tissue injury and low back pain. He is passionate about maintaining the high standards of patient care and clinical excellence that Woolton physiotherapy has built its reputation upon. In his spare time he enjoys playing football, gym and yoga.
Jackie Robertson – Lead Specialist Clinician, Physiotherapist, MCSP, HPC
Jackie qualified from Salford University in 2005 and worked in Aintree Hospital rotating around all the key areas of Physiotherapy until 2009. She has since worked in several private clinics and is now working full time in WPC. Jackie is passionate about Women’s health and has completed many post grad courses gaining competence in pelvic floor examination and treatments. She is an ante and post-natal specialist physiotherapist, teaches clinical Pilates and leads exercise as part of our weight management programs.
Joanne Ford – Specialist Clinician, Physiotherapist, MCSP, AACP, OCPPP, HPC
Jo graduated in 1996 from Salford University. She is a senior paediatric physiotherapist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital working in orthopaedic trauma, burns and plastics. She has worked part-time at Woolton Physiotherapy for the past sixteen years. She has taken her skills voluntarily to Napal and is a regular lecturer in her area of expertise.
Christopher Burford – Senior Physiotherapist, MCSP, AACP, HPC
Chris qualified from Bristol University in 1997 and worked in the NHS for 12 years before coming to work for us full-time since 2010. He specialises in Musculo-skeletal, Neurological physiotherapy and acupuncture. He has completed post graduate training in work place assessments and ergonomics and provides our services within local industry and local borough council. He works at our Woolton and Formby clinics.
He attends regular courses to maintain his professional standards as well as in-house training. When not working he loves going camping with his family in his lovely camper van!
Helen Crossdale – Paediatric Physiotherapist, MCSP, HPC
Helen has worked as a senior Paediatric Physio both within NHS and private practice treating children 0-18 years of age at the clinic, home visits and in special and mainstream schools. She has managed a team of therapists within a Liverpool special school and supervised junior and student physiotherapists from Liverpool and Manchester Universities. Helen is the proprietor at Kids 4 Physio and offers all her services from Woolton Physiotherapy Clinic. She has a huge love and passion for her work.
William Seaford – Senior Physiotherapist, MCSP, AACP, HPC
Bill has practical experience in a wide range of physiotherapy skills including Mulligan, Maitland and Cyriax techniques. He has experience across a broad spectrum of conditions including spinal, shoulder, lower limb and TMJ dysfunctions. He enjoys working with patients no matter how challenging and/or complex their conditions. He is a free diving world champion and great guy!
James Williams – Senior Physiotherapist, MCSP, AACP, PGcert, HPC
James graduated from Keele University in 2001. He has extensive experience, having gained expertise in the fields of Upper Limb, Lower Limb and Spinal conditions, working closely with Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has completed post graduate courses specialising in sport injuries
James has a post graduate certificate in Manual Therapy. James’s knowledge of sports injuries comes from his own keen interest in running, in which he races regularly from 5K to full marathon distances. He is a Dad of 2 young children so juggles the balls.
John Wilkinson – MSCP, HPC
He works within the NHS full at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospital NHS trust and offers his skills at our clinics part time. John has attended post grad courses and has a special interest in acupuncture, soft tissue knee Injury management and shoulder injury management. John likes to travel, ramble and walk up mountains 🙂
Emile Di Marco – Sports Massage
Graduated in 2003 with a Sports science degree from University of Glamorgan, and is a qualified Teacher of PE. Currently full time lecturer in sport and is a programme leader for level 4 and 5 HNC sports programs:-Sports coaching and development and Sports exercise and rehabilitation. He works with Volleyball England men’s team and at Woolton Physiotherapy clinic part time
When not massaging or teaching enjoys cycling, running and keeping fit and entering new events. Continually developing practice with CPD focusing on new methods within sports massage.
Bronagh Grimes – Physiotherapist, MCSP, HPC
Clare Shaw – Physiotherapist
Clare graduated from Liverpool University in 2015. She currently work full time within the NHS at The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Trust. Prior to this she worked for 10 months in Liverpool community health trust as a community physiotherapist. She has completed a post-graduate acupuncture course and has a special interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Diana Satalova – Senior Clinician, MSCP, HPC
Gus Hadonou – Physiotherapist, MCSP,HPC
Gus graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2014. He has worked in several places specialising in Musculo-skeletal practice including Aintree, Southport and St Helen’s hospital whilst also working part-time at Woolton Physio. Gus had attended further courses on Pilates and massage and has an interest in acupuncture.
Gus is a keen skier/snowboarder and has worked as a physio for a season in Courchevel, France. His other interests include Muay Thai and cycling.
Imogen Pallister – Physiotherapist, MCSP,HPC
Graduated from Liverpool University in 2015 and have worked within warrington hospital and now the royal, being involved in netball myself i have an interest in sport injuries and pathologies and also work within a premier league football academy and I have widened my treatment skills by undertaking qualifications in acupuncture and sports massage.
I also scuba dive in my spare time !
Luke Burke – Physiotherapist, MCSP,HPC
Graduated from University of Liverpool in 2016 and currently works full time at Aintree University Hospital within Musculoskeletal field alongside part time at Woolton. I have a keen interest in lower limb injuries and has attended post graduate course in the rehabilitation of running injuries.
Alice Smith – Physiotherapist, MCSP, HPCAlice graduated from the University of Teesside in 2016 with a BSc in Physiotherapy. She is currently working for Aintree University Hospital, as well as working part time with Woolton Physiotherapy Clinic.
Tom McIver – Physiotherapist, MCSP, HPC
Tom graduated from Manchester metropolitan university in 2016 with a BSc in physiotherapy. he now work full time in Aintree university hospital as well as working part time with Woolton physiotherapy.
Tom has a special interest in manual techniques specifically based on the mulligan concept, lower limb injuries, sports related injury and back pain. I play football and golf regularly as well as having a keen interest in hiking, mountain climbing and mountain biking.
Alan qualified from Salford University in 2016. He is a Physiotherapist in Aintree University Hospital where he has worked for the past 17 years in a variety of different capacities, currently working in Major Trauma dealing with clients with multiple extensive injuries. He has also worked in areas such as A&E, Critical Care & MSK Outpatients.
He has special interest in lower limb rehab, sports related injuries, acupuncture, Mulligans & has hosted a number of courses at Aintree to ensure he delivers current, evidence based and individual care to all his clients. When not working, the father of 2 enjoys spending time with his family and coaching football.
Katie Hughes – Fitness Teacher
After graduating from Manchester Met with a BA (Hons) in Dance, Katie quickly changed her focus from teaching dance to teaching fitness. She finished her Exercise Instructors and Pilates teacher qualification in 2006, and has been teaching different forms of fitness since then. Katie continued to develop her skills by further courses in Pre and Post Natal, exercise, APPI Pilates and Personal Training – she is also qualified to teach a number of different classes such as kettlebells, pilates small equipment, step aerobics, spinning and exercise to music. Katie believes that no matter what form of exercise training she delivers, it should be safe, effect and fun.
Lisa Ellerton – Physiotherapist. MCSP, HPC
Jacinta Peers – Physiotherapist. MCSP, HPC
Jacinta graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2014 with a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy. She has worked at University Aintree Hospital and is currently working at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital as well as working part time in Woolton Physiotherapy Clinic. She has a special interest in back pain, particularly sciatica and referred back pain. She enjoys sporting events and occasionally plays wheelchair basketball and badminton.
Laura Clark – Dietitian
Laura works as a full time Dietician and is originally from Scotland. She graduated in food and nutrition back in Scotland 2000. She went on to get a Diploma in Dietetics from the University of Edinburgh in 2003. She moved to Merseyside 14 years ago for her first post as a qualified Dietician. She has since worked in a variety of hospital and community settings. Laura is highly experienced in working with patients both adults and paediatrics with complex clinical diseases such as Diabetes, Inflammatory Bowel conditions, Weight Management, Oncology, Renal disease, Allergies, Metabolic conditions and much more. She has a professional interest and experience in Sports Dietetics and is committed to Continued Professional Development which aims to provide Dietary and Nutritional advice in accordance with current evidence based practice e.g. NICE guidelines and research. Laura also teaches Pilates and has a keen interest in exercise.
Meet The Admin Team
Rachel Boden – Admin Manager
Rachel joined our Childwall clinic working part-time in reception in 2014. She was promoted in 2015 to Practice Manager. Previously Rachel worked for University of Liverpool for 17 years at the Cancer Research Centre. She has completed numerous courses including BTEC administration, NVQs in customer service, business administration and team leading.
Danielle Brayford – Receptionist
Danielle works at our Childwall clinic 1 evening a week covering the front desk. She is currently at 6th form studying A Levels.
Louis Ferraiolo – Receptionist
Louis works 1 night a week covering the front desk. He is currently studying GCSEs.
Jenny McAleavey – Administration
Jenny works at our Childwall clinic on a part-time basis as an administrator. Jenny has worked intermittently for the clinic over many years whilst also studying for a degree in English from which she graduated in 2014.
Katrina Bimpson – Administration
Katrina joined our team in 2014 and works at our foundry clinic on a full-time basis as an administrator. Before she joined us she worked as an administrator for Wirral Advisory Centre. She has an NVQ in business and administration.
